This trailer for Super Splatters, the revised version of The Splatters for Steam, is beyond silly. It does what not enough game trailers do, however — it gets the point across efficiently. The new release is happening on June 26, 2013 for PC and Mac, followed by a Linux port “shortly after.”
Changing direction mid-air is as fun to me now as it was last year on Xbox Live Arcade. Super Splatters is still 30 percent off if you pre-purchase now. Seven bucks is, from what I’ve played of the original game and a new pre-release PC build, a great price. Using a mouse feels like a step up, and I tend to play most of my PC titles with a gamepad.
Here is an excerpt from his post:
…today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:
· An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
· Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.
I encourage you to read the entire post for additional details and how Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console — there will be no regional restrictions.
Thank you for your continued support of Xbox.
Update: It looks like the news site is having trouble so here is the full text of the post:
Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.
For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.
Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback. I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you for your assistance in helping us to reshape the future of Xbox One.
You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world.
So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:
- An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
- Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.
In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console — there will be no regional restrictions.
These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.
We appreciate your passion, support and willingness to challenge the assumptions of digital licensing and connectivity. While we believe that the majority of people will play games online and access the cloud for both games and entertainment, we will give consumers the choice of both physical and digital content. We have listened and we have heard loud and clear from your feedback that you want the best of both worlds.
Thank you again for your candid feedback. Our team remains committed to listening, taking feedback and delivering a great product for you later this year.

There was a lot of good buzz surrounding Transistor during PAX East. However, it wasn’t until right now, while watching this extensive demonstration from developer Supergiant Games, that the sci-fi action-RPG had me looking into cryogenic freezing. Sadly, I’ll have to wait it out like the rest of you.
Beyond the standard real-time combat, players can pause the action to plan out — and then execute — their next attacks. This should give Transistor a different pace from the studio’s last release, Bastion, while still appealing to people who dug that title.
We already announced what Destructoid’s official game of the show was plus all our other top picks, but we also wanted to share with you our personal picks for E3 2013. These are the games that will be on our minds everyday until they’re finally released and in our hands.
Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie will be out on Steam starting June 24. The ability to share levels through Steam Workshop sounded like the real draw until I heard about Hello Games’ collaboration with Valve and Mojang, the results of which can be seen in this new trailer. I’m a total sucker for crossovers, even if they’ve been done time and time again.
“Lately pretty much all of us have been playing on our PCs more than our consoles, especially at lunch, and you know that means Team Fortress 2,” writes Hello Games. “Like, we’ve clocked up over 4000 hours in it between us and have so many hats. Just for fun Aaron started adding TF2 characters into Joe Danger and I was in love with how good they looked. We completely had to make them happen for real, so we called Valve, and now it’s a real thing!”
The entire Team Fortress 2 lineup is playable, as is Minecraft‘s The Player (aka Steve) and Pigman. The latter game will also introduce block-filled levels to Joe Danger. A fun little bonus for PC players, to be sure.
The dynamic duo, Jak and Daxter leap onto PS Vita this week in The Jak & Daxter Trilogy. All three games have already made their HD jump onto PS3, but now you’ll be able to experience their adventures away from the TV. And if you really like the TV then purchasing on PS Vita will also net you’re the PS3 version, too! Daxter just keeps spreading that love.
OMG HD Zombies! is an insanely addictive exploding-zombie-themed chain reaction game. A redux of the original critically acclaimed OMG-Z, it’s you and a rifle standing between the undead and global armageddon!
For our vanilla Gran Turismo 5 owners, if you were a little too shy to dip into the DLC available for GT5, we’ve got a special promotion bundle available for two weeks. You’ll get the content of Gran Turismo 5 Academy Edition in a nice bundle with a very attractive price, so why not buckle up?
Content may be added or removed, or move dates – please stay tuned to your weekly Store Update for the most up to date listings. Listed savings are approximate, based on SRP excluding Special Offer pricing and should be considered as a guide only.

Here’s footage of tactical gameplay in The Bureau: XCOM Declassified to go along with the usual news that, yes, post-release DLC is happening. The August 20 launch on Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 isn’t exactly right around the corner, but someone deemed today to be the day to talk about such things. Declassified‘s “narrative-driven” add-on will arrive first on Xbox 360.
That’s actually all there is to it for now. There’s also going to be a side mission named “Codebreakers” for folks who pre-order the game. A government facility tasked with intercepting and decoding transmissions has gone radio silent, and it’s up to your squad to figure out what went wrong. Yep, that sounds suitably optional. Find screenshots for this mission below.
